History of the King

William Omar Landrón Rivera is one of the most versatile talents in the entertainment industry: entrepreneur, actor, drag racer, composer, music producer, and singer. He is known by his stage name Don Omar, and sometimes called by his nicknames El Rey or The King of Reggaeton. Despite being regarded as one of the most influential artists in Latin America, he still maintains a humble and approachable demeanor.

Since 2003, Don Omar, a Multi-Platinum and Latin Grammy award winner, has been one of Puerto Rico's most prominent artists. His solo debut album "The Last Don" was produced following highly successful singles that made him an international star. His second album, King of Kings, released in May 2006, debuted at number one on the Latin Billboard charts and reached number 7 on the Billboard 200, the highest rank in reggaeton history. In 2012, he was one of the biggest winners at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, taking home eight awards including Best Latin Rhythm of the Year, Best Songs of the Year, and Best Album of the Year, among others. He is one of the most viewed Latin urban artists with billions of views on YouTube and Vevo.

His most recent album is “The Last Album” released in December 2019, which included collaborations with various artists and producers. Its first single, “Ramayana” (featuring Farruko), topped the Hot Latin Songs chart, while its video accumulated millions of views.

It's a fact that Don Omar is as famous for his successful recordings and compilations as he is for his singles, collaborations, albums, and well-produced shows. His success positioned him as one of the true leaders and pioneers of Reggaeton, and among them, he was undoubtedly the revolutionary: a passionate man with a dazzling voice who seeks to elevate listeners to brighter days.

Besides music and car racing, acting has been another achievement in his career. His association with Vin Diesel's Fast and Furious franchise has been so successful that he has appeared five times as Rico Santos. Some of his songs were also part of the saga's soundtrack.

Rebuilding... is also part of this versatile artist. When Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria, Don Omar continued to actively collaborate with victims in the most affected and vulnerable areas of Puerto Rico, along with his work team and volunteers who call themselves "Anonymous Heroes."

His talent, creativity, and hard work have led him to take his career into his own hands, continue developing it his way, reinventing himself, and producing the good music that has characterized him. After deciding to become an entrepreneur, nothing has stopped him from creating the business conglomerate he has today.
